POSTING to Matt's bulletin board is disabled for the moment due to robot attack (really); new security measures are being prepared. Thank you for your patience.
Hi, Galactic Geographer Karl Kofoed here! (see the current Heavy Metals) I've been wandering dimension one/milky way with Matt and Konny&Czu for a while now and have enjoyed the ride. We've been in each other's universe for so long we could argue forever as to who influences who. The truth is that anyone orbiting bugtown comes away full of inspiration. TTL. Go Matt!

Just found Post Bros. # 63.... Matt, I hope you're kidding about stopping the series. I've got several wire-and-plastic barons here who swear they'll embargo all shipments of patchcords to bugtown. We don't wanna see an ugly trade war....
What do you mean, we have a C.O.D. from bugtown at the door? *loud boom*
Hello Matt. As soon as I found out that the Post Bros were going on hiatus I sent you a big check for all the back issues I didn't have as well as for various supplementary materials (Con & C'thulu, Savage Henry, etc) ... and listed all my detailed requirements in careful handwriting on a big slice of yellow paper which I mailed with the check.
No doubt everyone else who survived Ron's anti-readership rampage in #63 did the same and now you are deluged by napkins, 3"x5" cards, flip chart paper, celluloid cuffs, etc. etc. each one having scribbled upon it some precise permutation of 58 of the 236 available items of merchandise, not to mention two or three people who actually used the on-line form as well, and your life has become a nightmare snarl of shipping.
Man, I can't wait to get my hands on all those great comics. I run home every day and peer into the mailbox. Oh boy oh boy.
In the meantime I subconsciously acquired for myself a complete Russ Post costume: jeans, t-shirt, double-breasted leather trenchcoat, boots, little glasses. I made it nearly all the way downtown to the local Goth coffee shop to sit amongst the reassuring freaks before it dawned on me that there was something odd about my appearance, and then I glanced in the reflective bank window. "God Hell!" I thought. "I look like Russ Post! ... Cool!"
Best wishes and a special benediction upon your super shipping powers.
Matt! Have you heard Mike Patton's "Adult Themes For Voice"? It will cook your brain until it resembles a semi-decomposed cantnalope oozing veins of "easy cheese"! It's great! Re: New Korn Video :( - "Feeling like a freak IN A KILT on a leash"? You bucketheaded galoot! That was my idea! I've been playing metal in a kilt for dozens- uhh... thousands of fans since Korn was still called LAPD! You know what that stands for? "Love And Peace, Dudes"! I shit you not, that is gospel! What the hell kind of name is that! Matt, I'll send you one of band's tapes in the mail sometime soon. We are called 'Hussein' and we are the forefathers of kilt-metal! You will fucking HATE our music, though. (we do a really bad cover of the Residents' "Constantinople", too. Insult to injury!!)
Matt & Co-- just caught the Residents show here in Mpls at 1st Ave-tiny venue, great performance-everything yer comics led me to expect--even saw a sprinkling of Bugtown folks in the crowd-big surprise-like the site here -G. in Mpls-
Saw the Wormwood tour at a ratbag hall in Seattle known as the Showbox. Loved it; Those Residents are too wierd! Thanks for exposing them to me.
-Killer friggin page, Matt (or should I say, Emperor Ron?)... -Only thing, I think you should have pictures of the two T-Shirts on the order page... -I'll be hitting you up for the Wanted T-shirt, and a whole BOATLOAD of back issues around the end of the month...You give a quantity discount? <g> -Ummm...I just re-read that last Post Bros issue...Bugtown vs. The Reader...Great concept...You're about a freak, ain't you? I mean that in a good way, of course...
-I also noticed, in the issue where Antonio Draco lured Ron to the Warehouse, had the tape recorder playing, and had Ron ambushed by many gun toting hitmen, that The Shadow was standing in the middle of the scene, blazing away...Clever...i read your books like I used to read MAD, for Sergio Aragones' "Marginal Marginals"...Ron's "Really Loud" shirt!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
Any schedule on when some new Bugtown stories are coming out?
Until Mightiest Ron shifts into a dimension where he's me, thereby allowing me to take over his one track mind, Make mine HOWSKI!

From MATT HOWARTH to all:
I want to thank everyone who's stumbled into the labyrinth Bugtown Mall site (check it out, there are several hidden links all over the HomePage of this site for your amusement).
Your desires to see THOSE ANNOYING POST BROS back in print are noted, and they coincide with my wishes. Alas, with the comicbook industry in the state that it's in, I have so far been unable to find a new publisher interested in the book. My efforts will NOT cease on this matter though.
You are all advised to keep tabs on the "News" page on my ATTIC site for word of upcoming projects (many of which will only be happening online). This site is easily accessed by going to www.matthowarth.com (If the homepage is not up there yet, just click on the Attic link at the top of the page that does appear. This "Links" page is currently serving as a reference point until I get everything sorted out online. You will also find a listing of my other websites there, including a long list of other interesting sites. Those noted with an * indicate the presence of my work on that site.)
Right now, I can point out that work on ATTIC OUTPUT (the complete and anotated Matt Howarth bibliography) is nearing its final pre-production stages. The inclusion of over 50 art files to the CDROM took some extra doing, but I'm certain that you'll be pleased with all the rare and unpublished art and strips included. (The patience of those who pre-pub ordered this is greatly appreciated.)
Also, you can look forward to TUNERS, my first SF all-text novel, which I will be self-publishing on floppy disc very soon.
For now, I appreciate all the comments and support. Many thanks. (Note: if you'd like to receive personal replies to your posts, please include your Email addresses with these posts.)
Trust me...it may seem as if it's stopped, but it hasn't ended.
Oooh! Website! Lovely! It's much easier to copy an online list and check off what I need than flipping through the backs of all my comics. I suggest that if you were to pick out a couple of publishing companies you'd like to work with & mention them somewhere, all of your fans might write or e-mail them asking why they don't pick up Post Brothers, they would sense a demand, and hopefully get in touch with you. (Especially if everyone included contact info for you in their Post Brothers pleas...) If you have a lot of time on your hands (HA!) I'd really like to see a Bugtown and/or Keif Llama desktop theme for Windows (if you have Windows) available on the site. I'd make one, but I have no Bulldaggers music to use for sounds, and am reluctant to scan your artwork without permission. Is there going to me more Keif Llama soon?
For those who might be interested, there's a holidaze card from Matt for all which can be found at:

Dear Mr. Howarth,
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
I want to thank you sincerely for several years of the most fulfilling and mind-expanding comic book work that the world has ever produced. Your radical conceptual experiments on freedom, power, and extreme post-modern mythology have established you as one of the forerunning poet-entertainers of this current Aeon, and I salute your ongoing efforts. Your idiological advocacy of freedom of individuals to expand their minds, speak their thoughts and explore the Universe without restriction has earned my respect as a patron of the arts, and as a representative of the Word of Thelema, which is : "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." I continue to recommend you to aquaintances (and no small number of my Brothers and Sisters in the Order of the A.'. A.'., who have received your work with equal pleasure and approval, for the most), I request to be informed of any of your future publishing ventures. Love is the law, love under will. Sincerely, Frater Lohngrin 2=9 A.'. A.'. www.angelfire.com/il2/LohngrinAA dirotousa@hotmail.com
uh, yah, i got something to say. to the guy that said that LAPD (the early incarnation of KoRn) stood for Love And Peace Dude: you're wrong. The name stands for Laughing As People Die. ok, that's it. adios
Hi there, Mr Howarth.
I've ended up here almost by accident but am already quite tempted to actually order something!
My journey to here started when somebody mentioned the Post Bros to me and his suspicion that they had something to do with the Mael Bros of Sparks fame (if I have to have pop music in my life let it be bizarre pop music like theirs!)... and then I'm trying to find Residents CDs at Ralph America and you/they pop up again! Connections like that amuse me too much.
Expect a return visit from me sometime, quite possibly bearing IMOs!

Dear Matt, I am Jack. I was introduced to your Annoying Post Bros. comix years ago by a good friend. It has been many years entailing moving once or twice and that annoying thing called reality, and I had completly forgotten about the joy that was those annoying post bros. What a empty few years it was. Although I do not pick them up i remember them with fondness the stories I read years ago, and love telling co-workers about them as they they tilt there collective heads and give me strange looks. The mundane fools, I still remember the Loot trilogoy with great fondness. A devoted broke fan Jack. EL_DIABLO_AMANOS@YAHOO.COM
Hey, the Mall is back!
Hello all!
Well, well. I haven't haunted a comic store for nearly 8 years. Recently I've been lured into a local shop with the promise of Cowboy Bebop video rentals. What do you know! Matt actually came out with another Keif Llama story. Thanks for this one Matt. My brother and I collected Xenotech & Particle Dreams as they came out, and I always thought they were some of the best sci-fi books out there.
Since I started persuing progressive rock over the past few years, I finally caught the Magma imagery in the symbol of Her Insane Majesty's Empire. Coolness. What is also cool is a the progressive rock discussion board Progresive Ears (www.progressiveears.com). I'm still wet behind the ears compared to most of the folks on that board, but the net culture is one of the best I've experienced, no pretense, just love of music! You can have some good discussions there.
Anyway, I hope that you put out more Llama stories. I wasn't even aware of Konny & Czu, looks worth a try!
Peace, Christopher
Heya Matt,
Way back in the days before CD-ROM, I used to hang out at a place in New Jersey calle Pranzetelli's Stereo & TV. There was this guy who turned me on to the Bulldaggers and Bugtown.
Since those many years ago, I have been moving around the world and my collections of vinyl and your works have been stored in New Jersey and I haven't seen either one for many a moon.
There was one book, that starred a real band and they fought against Hiroshima, I believe. I am trying to find the vinyl release by this band but I can not remember their name for the life of me! I remember in the book there was one scene of a girl being sucked through a living room window fan, and then when everyone went outside to see what was going on, another guy got chopped up by and invisible whirling blade.
I have checked through the catalog pages and the only thing I can see that might be the book is The Anti-Chair. Is this right? What was that bands name?!! Their album was fantastic! Just one, long instrumental jam that cut off at the end of side one and continued on side two.
Thanks very much for warping my young mind,
Chris Paino
Sorry, just read Matt's post and noticed what he said including your email address.
Matt, if you can help me locate that band's music again, I'd really appreciate it!
Chris Paino painoc001@hawaii.rr.com
Hi there.
Matt - we need some desktop wallpaper please!!
Also, thanx for the music links. They have been most useful.
P.S. - For those of you in to an interesting literary experience read "Dahlgren" by Samuel R. Delany. It's worth it. Trust me.
Hi Matt,
Nice page. I want to order some stuff (sor of $60 worth) but my bankers tell me I can't have an IMO. I can have a draft in US funds or I can wire money to an account but IMOs appear to be a thing of the past. I would much prefer to send a draft in US funds because it's cheaper for me but if Ron says I must wire I don't dare argue.
I've always been impressed with your taste in music although personally I don't dare enter the cassette tape underground. You don't mention Japanese music much: I would have thought that the noise brigade (Merzbow etc) and the prog/psych department (Acid Mothers Temple etc) would be your cup of tea. Ah well...
Keep up the good work.
Martin Laszlo martin@whdarbyshire.fsnet.co.uk
When, O when, In the name of Ba'al's Balls, will there be some new (well, at least new visually) Post Brothers???? My Gods & Demons but we could use thier talents today!!! (Mind you, I am looking forward to the CD and the new Keif G/N!!)
New Bros. adventures are available in text form from the "New Stuff" shop (see the map page). Matt's Bugtown-related text work will give you an appreciation of the Bros like you've never had, even if (like me) you consider yourself a raving fan. --The Claw
suggestion for story line... Hiroshima says to Caroline something like "you're so smart, lets see how YOU handle being a deity" then either makes Caroline a Goddess too, or transfers her power to Caroline then walks out. RGProvins
RG Provins has hit on an idea dangerously close to one sitting in my To-Do Pile. Perhaps when I've completed the new "Bugtown" miniseries, I'll attack this one next. --Matt Howarth
much respect and gratitude for good taste of our space gods, and humble appreciation from their musical devotee's....thanks for transcribing in visual eye candy......tommy grenas
I'd really enjoy seeing Freddy Kruegar getting pulled into Bugtown somehow, and his reaction it. Also hoping for a return of Quickie, she seemed smart and resourceful....RGProvins
Anybody know where I can get a copy of 'Stalking Ralph'? If you do, contact me at bobholmes@cox.net Thanks
Whoopee! I remember when the internet was new and I typed "Matt Howarth" into Yahoo. Not much came up. Now look what's here!
I once wrote to Matt, who also wrote - actually typed - back. You seem to have embraced technology with some fervour since then!
Well, that's 3 exclamation marks, my ration for today. Back to work and the grindstone -
Hi, when will the new Bugtown series be available? I check MU Press almost daily, don't see it.
How about a book starring Arcane Device, like The Simultaneous Man with Nash The Slash?
Ditto but with The Residents?
Also, trying to find Cephalic Index: Angels With Go-bot Faces, the distrib is out of business, any suggestions where to look? Rob Provins
Is there any way to get a complete comix of the work that you did for Heavy metal? also would you be interested in animating musical, neo-hip-hop- electronica videos with a definite theme?
Downloadable Keif Llama?? Wow, this is the coolest thing since tubal ligations!!!!!
Matt, Are there any of your mini-comics left for sale?
Some of the "Mike" minicomics are left. See the Collectibles section at the Bugtown Mall. There's also the original edition of "Fix".

plot suggestions, 1) Ron gets depressed 2) a reality where there are 3 Post Bros Rob Provins
This is The Claw, and let me tell you, you're not drinking beer until you're drinking out of an official "The Claw in Bugtown" stein. Go here to get 'em, and a lot more MH stuff: http://www.cafepress.com/bugtownmug2.14613113
Hi Matt, Thanks for hipping me to the Residents many many years ago. And for introducing me to Ron and Russ Post. And for teaching me a cool way to draw exit wounds. Been digging up my old Heavy Metals and digging 'Changes' all over again. Stupidly just found out last year about the passing of the great Lou Stathis. What a drag. Glad to see you're still kicking and screaming in pen and ink. Keep it up Matt.
how about "Ron brings disco to bugtown" that'll annoy everyone! picture Lord C'thulhu in a disco suit... aaaaaccccckkkk!
Keif Llama. Thank you. Matt Levin Walking Man Comics
